My dad was a true "car guy". He was respected throughout the Macomb community as well as by his peers in the automobile business across the midwest.
Dad opened Gentry Motor Company in September of 1989. Prior to his passing in 2002 I was able to learn a lot from him. His basic philosophy was to treat people the way you want to be treated. While I have made some mistakes over the years, this philosophy has served as a guide in my pursuit of sucesss. The best thing about working with my dad was the comfort I had in knowing that he was there whenever I needed him.

After going away to college and traveling some, I came back to Macomb to work with my Dad in the car business and finish my degree at WIU. The "plan" was to learn for a couple years and then move on....well that was 15 years ago! I came to really like the car business, more for the poeple than the cars. I also met my wife Renee and the rest is history. I am truly a lucky guy and am thankful for the opportunities I have been given. The best thing about all of the people I work with is the closeness we have devloped over the years and the comfort I have in knowing they are always there for me. Here is a picture of me and my family at the Zoo in St. Louis. From left to right is Boston, my youngest son 4, Payton age 7, my beautiful wife Renee, and Ben the oldest age 9. These are the 4 reasons I go to work everyday!

This is me and my daughter Jordan mugging for the camera. She is currently attending college. My wife Michelle and I are trying to get used to the quiet household! I am originally from Indianapolis Indiana and for a time lived in Houston Texas. Most of my adult life has been in retail sales, first in Jewelry and now automobile. I started working with John and his Dad, Ben, in October of 1995 as a Sales Counselor. In February of 2000 I moved into handling the financial arrangements for the customers. That move fit me like a glove, I am a detail oriented person and I enjoy helping our customers get the car they want at a price that works for them. Today I am John's right hand man. I am involved in every aspect of the dealership from finding inventory, meeting customers, and working with the banks and lending institutions to get the job done. One of the main reasons I have stayed with John over 14 years is because of his understanding of where Family ranks on my priority list. He has always tried to accommodate my needs big or small. Gentry Motor Company, to me, truly is a Family business.

I am originally from Bradford Illinois, a small town north of Peoria. I relocated to Macomb when I attended WIU. In 1995, John helped me get a little blue Toyota Tercel. Then in 1996 he again helped me get a second car a blue Dodge neon. I enjoyed the process, which was a first, and also got to talking to John about selling cars. In 1997, he convinced me to join him and his Dad as a Sales counselor. Since then, I have enjoyed helping people find a solution to their automotive needs. Today, I have taken on the responsibility of handling all of the stuff behind the scenes that keep John, and the business, out of trouble and I still get to work with a long list of previous customers as a sales counselor. The main reason I am still working with John is because he has a good heart. He understands me, as a mom, and never bats an eye when life's little emergencies arise. I truly feel like I am a part of a family, not just a business.

This picture was taken at the Morgan County Speedway with my #1 fan Nathan. I am originally from Bluffs, Illinois, a small town west of Springfield. I was managing a local grocery store when I met John playing on our softball team. In 1998 John helped me get a Jeep Grand Cherokee that I needed for my soon to be family of 3. He and I talked about selling cars, and finally he convinced me to join him and his dad in 1999. I am probably best described as a people person who enjoys making friends. This business allows me to do that, and at the same time help people get what they want and need. I enjoy racing, from watching NASCAR to racing my own 4 cylinder Dodge Neon around area dirt tracks. I also enjoy hunting and I am a huge Cowboys and Cardinals fan. My wife Kim and I have a son Brendan, now age 11, we have enjoyed the family style atmosphere of Gentry Motor Company. One of the main reasons I have continued to work with John is because of his understanding that life is more than just your job. John has helped me to be a apart of community organizations like the Elks, and has always accommodated my schedule to allow me to be active in the hobbies I enjoy with my family.

This is a picture of me and my dog Ali going for a sunday drive in my dad's Tbird. I am the youngest of 7 in the Gentry Family. I came to work with my Dad and brother back in 1996 in the detail shop. After about a year I started managing the shop and the rental car business. In April of 2000 I decided to be an Over the Road Truck driver for a small trucking company out of Monmouth. I enjoyed the freedom and independence of being on my own driving the highways across the country. In 2004, I decided to park my 18 wheeler and go back to work with my brother in the family business. Since then I have enjoyed meeting people and helping them get a vehicle that works for their needs. Working with my brother presents it's challenges, but in the end I feel happy to be helping him keep the Gentry family business going forward. The one thing I like about working with my brother is being able to talk one on one as a brother not just an employee.

I am from the nearby town of Colchester. I have been working with John since 2006. I enjoy the work and John has always been fair with me. Working here has been rewarding, learning a trade, and with John's help I have been able to take on more responsibility and learn how to become a better communicator and understand how important the customers opinion is.

I came to Macomb from Ipava Illinois, a small town east of Macomb, to attend WIU. My first day was on my birthday in 2008. Since starting here I have learned the value of paying attention to the details that are apart of doing a professional job. I have enjoyed working with Sid and the others. As a boss John has always treated me with respect and has been very flexible around my class schedule.
